How long to spend in Allan gardens
This is really a matter of preference. If you are a true botanist you will want to spend more time looking at each individual section of the conservatory and gardens. If you are just a regular person going for a walk I would say spend about half an hour to an hour here. It really depends on what you want to do, but it is a super great to relax, hang out and enjoy with friends.
Allan gardens chloe
Yeah, did you see the conservatory in the movie chloe? I thought I recognised some of the plants, and lo and behold I was right.
Allan gardens conservatory Toronto
The garden is very symmetrical. As with a lot of Victorian design and botanical gardens, the symmetry is partially because it is the strongest structure to build out of metal, but also that it looks great!
Allan gardens events
There are certain events that ruin throughout the year in the conservatory. One being the Easter showcase, this takes place in the cool house and features all of the spring flowering colourful bulbs, such as hyacinths and crocus. As well as this there is the December feature where there is regular horse rides, hot apple cider and the opportunity to view the conservatory in candlelight which i think is totally unique and cool. This harks back to the time the Victorians used to have a Christmas show, and they would put on a fair in the park. The activities hark back to that time period with their baked cookies available. Well worth a visit! The cool house does not have alpine plants, but find out how to look after alpine plants here.
How much is Allan Gardens conservatory?
It is free and open most days. Check the official website to see when the conservatory is open. The park is open all of the time. Because it is run by the government the Allan Gardens is free to walk around and enjoy.
